Assassins

Music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim
Book by john weidman
Directed by Tatiana Pandiani

Professional summer stock with a Princeton pedigree does not disappoint.

Assassins gives the audience an intimate, engaging and relentless 90 minutes in the company of a cast of actors that quickly wins your heart...relevant to viewers not only in the context of the musical’s original focus, but in the world in which we have found ourselves living today.”
— Sarah Vander Schaaff, Broadwayworld.com

Our first show of the season, Assassins is an explosive tale of the American Dream gone awry. A multiple Tony Award-winning musical, Assassins combines Sondheim’s brilliant lyricism and rich music in a revue-style tale addressing our nation’s culture of celebrity and the violent means taken to obtain it. Clever, original, dark, and surprisingly funny, Assassins is perhaps Sondheim’s most controversial musical.

The current staging...is superb—theatrically as exciting as it could be, technically thrilling and colorful...the crowd scenes are among the best seen in months”
— Stu Duncan, U.S. 1
